Nice is the capital of the beautiful and famous French Riviera.  The city is known for its beautiful beaches, sense of style and charisma.  Over the last 150 years the Riviera has gone through many transformations and the area itself has a long history.  The majority of the first inhabitants in Nice were actually not French and for many years the area was not even under French rule.  Italians, Greek, Spanish and Portuguese inhabited the area for many years.  This diverse background is noted in the Provencal language in the area as well as the architecture.

Nice has become a very popular place for visitors from other European countries to spend their summers.  The beaches are beautiful and people lie in the sun for miles.  The place has bee seen as a place to hedonistic, to relax and enjoy excellent dining.  The property in Nice is also surprisingly affordable.  Overseas investors can find a beautiful villa that is just minutes from the beach for around $180,000.  The housing in the area is absolutely amazing with buildings that are picturesque and 350 years old.  There are numerous restaurants and the beaches are just a short walk away. 

The British, in particular, have been very interested in owning property in the area.  There are many affordable flights from Liverpool to Nice on a daily basis.  The area itself is being updated to make the city safer and cleaner.  A new state-of-the-art tram is being built and the locals are becoming more sympathetic to the needs of the British and Americans.  There are numerous tourists to the area, but many are visiting and deciding to buy after their third or fourth visit to the French Riviera.

The market has been growing with leaps in bounds over the past few years.  The French Riviera is an excellent place for investors to find summer housing and vacation resorts, which will be very popular with the influx of tourists.  The area is popular for the quaint and cute accommodations and people are not necessarily looking for the American feel in real estate in Nice.  They want the authentic and old investments rather than large houses with large bathrooms as is popular in the states.
